Feel the Spirit

Feel the Spirit is Courtney's Stars of Tomorrow's ongoing series dedicated to the study, preservation, performance, and celebration of the Negro spiritual. Through concerts, lectures, masterclasses, and other artistic and educational initiatives, the series explores one of America's most significant musical traditions while honoring its enduring artistic, historical, and cultural legacy.

Drawing on both solo and choral repertoire, Feel the Spirit highlights the richness and diversity of the spiritual through performances that examine its evolution, influence, and continued relevance. The series brings together performers, scholars, educators, and audiences in thoughtful exploration of a body of work that has shaped generations of composers, performers, and communities.
