Our Work & Impact

Since our inaugural concert in the Langston Hughes Auditorium at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture in 2014, our mission has been to educate, cultivate, present, and inspire.  With this four-pronged mission at the fore, we have been able to introduce classical music to school-age children through a range of music education initiatives, cultivate classical music audiences who enthusiastically support our work, present world-class artists in concerts and recitals, and inspire audiences and musicians alike to believe in the beauty and power of classical music.

Courtney's Stars of Tomorrow is a presenting organization committed to providing performance opportunities to singers at various stages of career development, particularly those from marginalized groups.

Although we are not a young artist development program, many artists we present in our events come to us at the emerging professional stage of their careers. Some of these artists' first major performances occur under the auspices of Courtney's Stars of Tomorrow in our events at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, and Merkin Hall.

Now in the throes of concert and operatic careers, many of our featured artists are currently on the rosters of the top opera companies in the world, including the Metropolitan Opera, Chicago Lyric Opera, Los Angeles Opera, and the Bayerische Staatsoper to name a few.

As our small organization grows, we will continue to do all we can to ensure the next generation of classically trained singers thrives in this ever-evolving industry. Join us as we celebrate the triumphs of a few of the artists who are part of our extraordinary history.
